Scientific Capacity Building / Enhancement for Sustainable Development in Developing Countries ( CAPaBLE )

Partner Members

• Thailand : The Joint Graduate School of Energy and Environment (JGSEE), King Mongkut's University Technology Thonburi (KMUTT), the Main Proponent of this project, will assure the project management, the development of methodology for measuring GHG and aerosol emitted from biogenic and biomass burning activities associated to different vegetation land use, and the organization of the proposed training workshop.
• Japan : National Institute of Environmental Studies (NIES) and Global Environmental Forum (GEF) will provide technology based on semi-conductor sensors for the measurement of GHG emitted from biogenic and biomass burning activities of interest.
• Australia : Center for Environmental Science, Monash University, will contribute to technologically back-up the measurement of aerosols emitted from biomass burning.
• USA : Department of Civil Engineering, Lamar University, will technically support data assimilation related to biomass burning activities.
• Cambodia : Ministry of Environment of Cambodia will assure the implementation of the developed GHG and aerosols methodology and procedures in Cambodia.
