JGSEE Students received a blessing from their teachers at Wai Khru day

The " Wai khru" literal meaning in Thai is "paying a sound respect for teachers". It is an old Thai tradition that students give a respect for the teachers. Since Thursday is believed to be the very special day of the week for teachers, Wai Khru is celebrated in Thursday.

On Thursday, July 12, 2007 at 10:30 a.m, JGSEE students gathered to bow down humbly before their teachers and receive the blessing from them. It was time for the director of the school, Assoc.Prof.Dr Bundit Fungtammasan, to make his usual stunning speech which reminded "teachers as second parents for the students". After the lighting of the candle ceremony, the students sang a son called "Phra Khun Tee Sam" which is about teachers.

It was an astonishing moment for the students hearing the best wish from each of their instructors on their future career. Wai khru is the most splendid culture that must be maintained and pass for the next generation to come.
