Under the following objective: to establish and strengthening the IOP the following results and activities are proposed for the time until mid 2006:
| Result 1: The JGSEE is prepared for the IOP |
To implement IOP some preparation activities within the JGSEE have to be implemented, like a reorganisation of the research groups (RGs) and the laboratory to enable them to focus on services and project work as well, beside their existing research activities. In addition a more towards professional work oriented International Master of Engineering program for Energy/Environmental Technology and Management should be introduced to provide students with an industrial internship experience, which will in addition improve the industrial relation of the JGSEE.
Major activities are:
- Reorganise the Research Groups: introduce a RG Coordinator, revise the road maps, integrate the affiliated academic staff from other universities, prepare an annual implementation plan, set up an adequate management structure for the RGs and their supervision and define their services for industry/SME
- Reorganise the two laboratories: unite the two labs, set up an appropriate management structure, improve the quality of data analysis and define their services to industry/SME
- Introduce an international Master of Engineering program with industrial internship to strengthen the industrial relation of students and staff

| Result 2: The strategic plan for the IOP is established |
Once the organisational set up of the RGs and the laboratory is done and the M. Eng. program is introduced the scope of services to industry can be defined and an implementation plan drafted. Pat of the strategic plan is to establish and to strengthen the external relations of the JGSEE especially towards industry and international institutions. Last not least some promotion activities to market the services of the JGSEE are necessary to make this young institution known to its potential customers.
Major activities are:
- Draft and agree about a strategic plan for the IOP: define the scope of services, define the potential customers, list the partners (national and international) for networking in projects and draft an implementation plan for the IOP
- Establish working relation with potential customers: introduce the potential services of JGSEE and offer seminars, training and services
- for national public customers
- for national private customers especially SMEs
- Establish interlink age with partners to strengthen the profile and the services of the JGSEE
- with intermediary institutions for financing potential services to SME, like FTI, ITAP, TRF, etc.
- with international research institutions as partners in applied research projects
- Market service of the JGSEE:
- towards new students for the M. Eng. Program
- towards industry and associations for internship and services

| Result 3: Services of the IOP are offered |
The services of the JGSEE can be educational services, like training and workshops for specific topics, it can be applied research activities as consultants service or technology transfer, or information services, like lectures and conferences. In addition the IOP assists in the internship program, the exchange of academic staff with relevant international institutions to strengthen the profile of the JGSEE and in the internal staff development to assist the staff in offering and implementing industrial services. First achievements are expected in 2006, but it will have to be continued until 2008 to enable the JGSEE to have a fully established IOP program.
