Instructions for Authors
Preparation of the Manuscript
The elements of the paper are listed below in the order
in which they should appear.
- Title: The title should define the topic exactly
in the smallest possible number of words.
- Author Names: Add the affiliations and addresses
under the names of the authors.
- Abstract: The abstract should state the most
important facts and ideas in the paper. It should be complete in itself,
but need not repeat information in the title of the paper. The length
of the abstract should not exceed 200 words. The abstract should include
the problem studied, the method used, the main results, and the main
conclusions. Please add five keywords for indexing and retrieval
after the abstract.
- Main Text: The main text of the paper should
be divided into sections, each with a separate heading. The usual section
headings in research papers are: Introduction, Methods, Results, and
Conclusions. The main text should conform to the following notes.
- Symbols, Equations and Units: Every mathematical
symbol must be defined in the text. Write mathematical equations
in the simplest possible way so that they can be typed easily. Use
S. I. units for physical quantities.
- Tables: Tables must have a number and a
caption above the table. The reader should be able to understand
the table by reading the caption without looking at the main text.
Every table must be mentioned in the main text.
- Figures: Figures must have a number and
a caption below the figure. The reader should be able to understand
the figure by reading the caption without looking at the main text.
Every figure must be mentioned in the main text.
- Copyright: Materials reproduced from copyrighted
sources must have prior written agreement from the copyright holder,
and must be acknowledged in the text.
- Acknowledgements.
- References: References should be made in the
main text using consecutive index numbers in square brackets. Every
reference in the main text must appear in the list at the end of the
paper, and every reference in the list must be mentioned in the main
text.
For a journal paper give:
- the names of the authors,
- the year of publication,
- the title of the paper,
- the title of the journal (italic font),
- the volume number of the journal (bold font),
- the first and last page numbers of the paper.
For a book give:
- the name of the author,
- the year of publication,
- the title of the book (italic font), and
the edition number if there is one,
- the name of the publisher,
- the page numbers for your reference.
For an internet reference give:
- the author of the web page,
- the date of the web page,
- the title of the web page (italic font),
- the complete URL.
Manuscript format
Manuscripts should preferably be submitted as a Rich Text
Format file (*.rtf), or as a Microsoft Word Document (*.doc), on a 3.5
floppy diskette, or by e-mail. In addition, the inclusion of three A4
paper copies printed on one side of the paper would facilitate the processing
of your paper. Details of the format required are as follows.
- Paper size: A4 (Portrait).
- Margins: 3.0 cm all round.
- Font: Times New Roman.
- Title: Font size 24 pt, bold, centered.
- Author names: Font size 16 pt, centered.
- Affiliations and addresses: Font size 12 pt,
centered.
- Abstract: Font size 12 pt, justified alignment.
Abstract subheading bold at the beginning of the first line.
- Keywords: Font size 12 pt. Keywords subheading
bold at the beginning of the first line.
- Section headings: Font size 16 pt, bold, centered.
- Main text paragraphs: Font size 12 pt., justified
alignment, first line indented 1 cm.
