Research Focus > Hydrogen and Fuel Cells Hydrogen and Fuel CellsThe goal is to undertake studies of hydrogen production and fuel cell development in order to strengthen the national capability and promote self-reliance in these technologies. The focused areas are: hydrogen production from natural gas and biomass, and fuel cell development. The themes for hydrogen production include catalyst formulation, reformer design, and fuel selection; while the themes for fuel cell development are the preparation of electro-catalyst, the development of cell components, and the improvements of MEA, membrane and bipolar plate.
