JGSEE PhD student invited to present at R&D technical workshop

The Hydro and Agro Informatics Institute (Public Organization) has hosted the R2O (Research to Operation) Workshop annually since 2014.  This year, the event was held in Bangkok and expanded to two days (Sep. 7-8, 2017). The first day’s theme is extreme weather & climatic events whereas that of the second day is dedicated to atmospheric and air quality modeling and weather forecast operation. Mr. Nosha Assareh, JGSEE PhD Candidate, was among the invited speakers from governmental agencies, and local & international organizations.

His presentation gave an overview of the completed R&D project funded by the HAII and jointly conducted by the JGSEE and the HAII, whose purpose is to develop a technical tool to incorporate public improved high-resolution datasets (including satellite-derived) in support of atmospheric and air quality modeling for Thailand and the Lower Mekong River Region. Nosha contributed to the project significantly on the computational and computer aspects of the work. Dr. Kasemsan Manomaiphiboon (PI from JGSEE), Dr. Surajate Boonya-Aroonnet (PI from HAII), and Dr. Kanoksri Sarinnapakorn (HAII) helped lead the project, with the other members from the JGSEE and the HAII having joined in.
