Seminar on “Livable Nakhon Phanom to Low Carbon City”

JGSEE-CEE in collaboration with the Nakhon Phanom Provincial Office and the Faculty of Science of Nakhon Phanom University successfully organized a seminar on “Liveable Nakhon Phanom to Low Carbon City” during 24-25 June 2015 at Nakhon Phanom University. This seminar aimed at sharing knowledge and experiences on approaches to low carbon city. The seminar gathered over 40 participants including officials from the local municipality and academics.
In the seminar, Assoc Prof Dr Sirintornthep Towprayoon, Director of JGSEE-CEE, and Asst Prof Dr Pipat Chaiwiwatworakul, Dr Komsilp Wangyao, and Dr Awassada Phongphiphat, the academic staff of JGSEE, shared their knowledge on topics related to: Low Carbon City and Guidelines for Sustainable Development, Greenhouse Gas Reduction, and Suitable Energy Management Technology for Local Movement.
During the event, a card technique activity was carried out for participants to investigate how to develop Nakhon Phanom to a low carbon city, including, choices, problems and obstacles, and acceptance and participation of communities”.
Success stories on management and transformation of waste to energy and value added products were also shared. Participants were then invited to visit the MSW landfill of Nakhon Phanom Municipality.
