Joint Tailor-Made Graduate Program

Doctor of Philosophy Program in Sustainable Bioenergy and Biorefinery Technology (International Program)

The goal of developing a joint curriculum on Sustainable Bioenergy and Biorefinery Technology stems from various global changes, including technological disruption, climate change, environmental factors, population growth, and the aging society, all of which significantly impact Thailand’s economy, society, and daily life. These changes are unavoidable and necessitate the urgent creation of a skilled workforce capable of coping with and driving the country’s development efficiently and timely. The program emphasizes a demand-driven curriculum, where the curriculum is designed based on the needs of potential employers. It offers both degree and non-degree certificates, and upon completion, graduates can seamlessly transition to work in institutions that have prepared positions for them. Additionally, students undergo specialized skills development, particularly soft skills like communication, creativity, teamwork, time management, problem-solving, or conflict resolution, essential for their personal and professional success.

A collaborative curriculum is proposed in both graduate (master’s and doctoral degrees) and non-degree programs to supply personnel for research institutions and industrial sectors in the country. According to this framework, the research faculty has proposed a graduate program in Sustainable Bioenergy and Biorefinery Technology (SBBT) to meet the needs of the National Science and Technology Development Agency (NSTDA).

A tailor-made Program for the implementation of NSTDA’s Biorefinery Pilot Plant at EECi. The sustainable production of energy, food, chemicals and materials is a major challenge for us today and for future generations. This program offers students advanced study in the use of plant and crop-based resources in the production of biobased products (fuels, chemicals, materials, and energy). Prerequisite to major graduate work is a bachelor’s degree (1st class honors) or master’s training in engineering or a physical or biological discipline, including agricultural sciences.
