The Seminar Workshop on “Capacity Development Workshop for Flood Waste Management in SEA Mid-Scale Cities”

The Collaborative Research Laboratory in Thailand (CRL) which is the collaboration between the National Institute for Environmental Studies (NIES), Japan, Kasetsart University and JGSEE-CEE successfully organized Seminar Workshop on “Capacity Development Workshop for Flood Waste Management in SEA Mid-Scale Cities” during 17-18 June 2015 at Rama Gardens Hotel and Resort Bangkok. This seminar workshop is under the APN project “Adaptation of Solid Waste Management to Frequent Floods in Vulnerable Mid-scale Asian Cities ” and aims for participants to be able to take actions (flood waste management planning, in particular) to enhance resilience of the waste management system to flood in their locality.
In the workshop, the participants learned the basics of flood waste management then evaluated vulnerability of their locality and identified possible preparedness actions to overcome vulnerability. The workshop was divided into 2 days. The first day, 17 June 2015, was for the representatives from BMA officers and Bangkok district officers. The second day, 18 June 2015, was for the representatives from Ayutthaya PAO officers, and municipal officers from Ayutthaya attended the workshop.
