NASA/Columbia U. Scientist Visits JGSEE

On Thur. 12 July 2018, Dr. Robert Field visited the JGSEE (Bang Kkhun Thian) and gave a special talk on “Fires, climate, and air quality in Southeast Asia”. Earlier that week, He visited the Hydro and Agro Informatics Institute (HAII) (Public Organization) and gave a talk on “Advances in water isotope applications in atmospheric and hydrological sciences”, and also a forest-fire research unit at Kasetsart University for scientific discussion. He has worked as scientist for the NASA Goddard Institute for Space Studies (GISS) and Columbia University jointly since 2010, and his recognized research fields include climate-fire-haze and water isotope. His visit to Thailand was supported through a research project, led by Assoc. Prof. Kaseman Manomaphiboon (JGSEE), Dr. Surajate Boonya-aroonnet (HAII) and Dr. Kanoksri Sarinnapakorn (HAII), which is the second funding under the MOU of Collaboration between the JGSEE and the HAII.
