Innovation Seminar on Energy Efficiency in Buildings

With the official support of the German Federal Ministry for Economic Affairs and Energy (BMWi), and as a part of the Energy Efficiency Export Initiative, German-Thai Chamber of Commerce in cooperation with JGSEE-CEE, KMUTT successfully organized an Innovation Seminar on “Energy Efficiency in Buildings: Technology Solution for Energy Efficiency in the Buildings”. The event was held on 2 February 2016 in KMUTT. The aim of the seminar was to forge closer links between researchers and the industry, and to inspire future generations of engineers and architects.

On this occasion, Mr Marius Mehner, Deputy Executive Director, German-Thai Chamber of Commerce, delivered a welcome speech while Assoc Prof Dr Sirintornthep Towprayoon (director of JGSEE-CEE) delivered an opening address. Following the opening ceremony, Besides, Prof Surapong Chirarattananon, head of the BEST Lab at JGSEE, gave a talk on “An Energy and Carbon Rating Scheme for Residential Buildings in Thailand” and Dr Robert Himmler a presentation on “Innovative Energy Concepts for Buildings in Tropical Climates”. The event was well attended, including by students from the University of North Carolina (UNC), USA with an interest in this field and who are staying at JGSEE for a semester of study (6 months) as part of the UNC study abroad program.
